Maruba Resort has been in business since 1986. The land Maruba Resort is located on is a 1500 acre parcel of which 300 is developed and planted in Tropical Fruit Trees such as coconut , mango, cashew, custard apple, golden plum and sour sap. The resort itself is surrounded by a vast variety of jungle Flora and Fauna. The area is sufficient to develop a golf course and/or airstrip.

There are a number of different buildings including 18 cabanas, restaurant and bar, spa facilities and a few which house wild life which is endemic to Belize. Maruba Resort harvests its own herbs, teas and ingredients for the restaurant and spa from the surrounding jungle environment. The resort also has a full service spa complete with 2 swimming pools, mineral Japanese Hot Tub, mud baths and.
 

There are also Tropical gardens which are visited by tourists who visit the resort for lunch after viewing the ruins of Altun Ha . This ruin is a mere 10 mile drive from the resort.

 Maruba Resort also offers horseback riding and has its own horses on the facility as well as trails on which to ride and hike. The resort has a number of vehicles including boats which are used on a number of different tours including the Maya ruins of Belize, Baboon Sanctuary , Barrier Reef, and jungle river rides. They also offer transfers to the International airport which is 30 miles from the resort on a paved road.

The guest arrive daily via boat from Ambergris Caye, cruise ships and passenger vehicles.

Maruba resort is a self sufficient community complete with its own backup generator plant and water purification system. The employees of Maruba Resort are housed on the property and supplied with 24 hour electricity.
