SP Online Grocery is comprised of two E-Commerce websites offering online grocery shopping to local residents and to tourists. 

The way the company was structured allows it to operate under very low overhead with a highly automated and efficient process from order placement to fulfillment. It is the only fully functional E-commerce site on the island and possibly in the entire country.

SPOG is geared towards the local market and competes with local grocery stores. It has a customer database of 200+ with approximately 30 regular customers. It has averaged $35,000 in sales over the past 2 years and profits approximately 20% of sales. The important factor of the sales and profits is that it is achieved with approximately 3-5 hours of work per week.

Vacation Provisioning is a fairly new provisioning site which targets vacationers staying in condo suite or villa type accommodations. The primary competition is one other provisioning company. The competitive advantage is the online purchasing and real time credit card payments through PayPal. In the short time of operation it has produced $4,000 USD in sales which results in net profits of 40% of sales. Partnerships have been established with 5 resorts on the island, more are in the process. A 20% commission on net is offered to hotel partners.

Low overhead costs, due to favorable sublease agreement, allow for competitive pricing and profit margin control. 
Automated process utilizes suppliers and transport resources to reduce amount of time required to process orders.
Sites and the products are very easy to maintain and manage.
Growth Potential by partnering with more resorts and villas
Both sites have similar growth potential through an increased marketing effort. Increased sales volume would only result in a moderate increase in time consumption thanks to the automated nature of the business.
Further integration with supplier databases would decrease time required for substitutes and increase product offering.

Summary of Process – Order through Delivery
This is the current configuration of the process. Most of which is flexible and adjustable as required.
1) Customers visit website and select goods to purchase
2) Customers checkout their orders and notification is sent to admin and order stored in the database.
3) Admin goes into administration area to switch all orders to accepted status.
4) At order cut off time (currently 12pm Tuesday) a report compiled of all accepted status orders is emailed in one spread sheet to admin.
5) Admin separates various items from the different vendors and sends, via email, to those respective vendors for fulfilment.
6) Vendors prepare/pick orders from their inventory.
7) City Vendors send shipment to water taxi for transport to the island. Local vendors either deliver or have ready for pick up on Thursday morning.
8) Shipment arrives on island and is delivered to shop for sorting into individual customer orders.
9) Orders are delivered to customers or picked up per customer’s selected method.
